Even steel traps can get rusty:
President Obama made of a bit of a boo-boo on Thursday at the G8 Summit, reportedly repeatedly mixing up the British finance minister?s name with that of a popular soul singer.
The commander in chief three times swapped out George Osborne?s first name in favor of the name ?Jeffrey,? while agreeing with the minister?s presentation on plans to tackle tax evasion, according to media reports.
But Obama soon realized the name mix-up, saying he simply had the ?On the Wings of Love? singer Jeffrey Osborne on the brain.
?I?m sorry, man,? Obama said afterwords, ?I must have confused you with my favorite R&B singer.?

Not to be outdone, Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel, having finished answering a question about Afghanistan, made a ?joke? about an Indian professor?s affiliation:
The Pentagon?s statement didn?t really help:
?Absolutely no slight toward any individual in the audience was intended. That?s the last thing the Secretary would do under any circumstance, in this or any other setting. He didn?t know who would be called next to pose a question.?
The Pentagon should have stopped digging after the first sentence.
