The Business Development Customer and Market Engagement function is responsible for delivering world-class experiences that strengthen customer relationships, enhance business growth and advance the global brand of the Boeing Defense, Space and Security business. As an exhibit and events specialist, you will be responsible for leading the strategic planning and execution of military air and trade shows and other special events. You will be a partner with Boeing business units and other company organizations to drive effective customer engagements and advance business objectives at both domestic and international trade shows and events.

Specific responsibilities include the following.
Strategic planning/marketing: Leads strategic planning and execution of Defense, Space & Security exhibits and events. Plans and coordinates multiple complex trade shows, air shows, customer events, and product demonstrations. Utilizes substantial working knowledge of the Boeing business strategy, marketing tactics, customer requirements, company policies and procedures and U.S. and foreign government regulations. Leads exhibit and event planning processes across various organizations with both internal and external vendors (e.g.,facilities, marketing, communications, graphics, security, transportation, exhibit designers and builders). Manages teams to achieve successful completion of tasks. Implements logistics in accordance with company policies and procedures, branding, business courtesies, protocol and U.S. and foreign government guidelines.
Applies extensive knowledge of customer customs and cultures. Reviews accuracy of collateral material, invitation design and selection of promotional items. Provides onsite management of resources at trade shows and events.

Communication: Continuously collects, integrates and disseminates information to all stakeholders through various communication methods to ensure adherence to the plan. Works with senior executives to prepare and present trade show/event status briefings. Negotiates and secures vendor and supplier contracts and strengthens internal and external customer and supplier network.

Metrics: Facilitates process improvements based on in-depth analysis of feedback from stakeholders and conducts process reviews with planning team. Documents and shares results and suggests improvements to enhance quality of future projects. Provides guidance to work groups on process improvement matters.?

Requirements

Basic Qualifications for Consideration:

Do you have experience leading teams in planning and executing trade shows, exhibits or events to support customer engagements?

Do you have experience developing marketing strategies and tactics?

Have you used tools to measure trade show or event effectiveness (ROI/ROO) return on investment/objectives)?

Have you routinely worked with senior management and customers to develop and execute events and trade shows???

Typical Education/Experience:

Level 3 - Bachelor's and typically 6 or more years' related work experience, a Master's degree and typically 4 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Level 4 - Bachelor's degree and typically 10 or more years' related work experience, a Master's degree and typically 8 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.??

Other Job Related Information:

Ability to Obtain Interim and/or Final Clearances (Post Start) - US Citizenship Required. Position can be filled in St. Louis or Arlington, VA. This person will manage the entire exhibit/event process from strategy to execution. This includes annual budget planning as well as leading all aspects of strategy development and execution including working with program leadership, Business Development leadership, and Communications to accomplish business objectives and ensure appropriate Boeing branding and release of information. Responsibilities include managing the exhibit process for the assigned businesses, including contracting and supervising on-site exhibit services, schedule planning, budgeting, and fiscal control for assigned events. Demonstrated skills in the following are a must: trade show planning for major shows/events, planning and execution of business strategies (including return on investment/objectives metrics and measures), event marketing, negotiation, organizational, oral/written communication, and interpersonal. In addition, the position-holder is an integral member of the team and will be involved in initiatives and activities to improve processes and efficiencies. The role requires the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with minimal supervision, meet deadlines, and create and maintain effective working relationships and customer partnerships. A good working knowledge of U.S. government and DoD protocol, U.S. government policies, and some experience with international cultures and customs are preferred. Industry certifications and association memberships preferred. Works other than normal hours to support customer activities. Military background is a plus.??
