I am writing in response to Dwayne Deziel Sr. (June 10 letter, "Veteran not impressed by Memorial Day parade"). It's too bad that you didn't mention something to a passer-by, when the parade passed you by, maybe someone would have told you that it was only half over. That the parade marches on to the cemetery, and the rest of the memorial takes place there.
Maybe this was your first Memorial Day parade in Howell, and you didn't know, but you missed a great ceremony that did honor our fallen soldiers. Maybe next year, you'll follow along to the cemetery and see the whole parade.
